The operator reality

Three Things Most Venues Get Wrong
About Floor Space.

Before the maths. Before the social proof. Before the pricing. Here's the operator reality every venue we've talked to was wrestling with — and what Cue Golf does about it.

£40/sqm/yr

Your dead floor isn't earning.

Average UK leisure secondary floor runs at £40–£80 per sqm per year. Bowling lanes manage £400. Coffee shops do £600. Cue Golf delivers £3,439.

£0added payroll

Every other attraction needs new staff.

Cue Golf runs on the staff you already have. Existing till sells rounds. No new shifts, no new training, no rota headache, no recruitment.

8 wkssign to open

Most fit-outs eat a full quarter.

No power, no plumbing, no software. The 9 tables drop into place in a single install day. Around 8 weeks from contract signed to first paying player.

The Opportunity

One Format.
Any Venue.

Cue Golf is a self-contained installation: 9 tables, 80 sqm, no electricity, near-zero maintenance. It drops into family entertainment centres, holiday parks, malls, leisure venues, hospitality spaces — anywhere with footfall and a corner of unused floor. It earns its space. Then earns more than the activities next to it.

Why this works

Six UK Sites.
One Repeatable Result.

images/flagship.jpg·flagship close-up

The format isn't theory. We've built it, refined it, and run it across six UK sites — from the Flower Bowl flagship pulling ~4,000 customers a week to a multi-site Haven Holiday Parks rollout doing six figures a year off three sets. Same product, different venue types, consistent economics.

What it needs is footfall and 80 sqm. What it gives back is the highest revenue-per-sqm activity most operators have ever measured.

Why Cue Golf Works

Five Years of UK Proof.
One Repeatable Format.

Competitive socialising — interactive darts, shuffleboard, mini golf with a twist — is the fastest-growing leisure category in the UK. Cue Golf has been at the front of that wave since 2021, building a format that's been refined across six trading sites and four full years of data.

Built for the UK Leisure Market
From an 8-month launch year in 2021 to £275K annual revenue at the flagship in 2025 — that's ~54% top-line growth year-on-year, driven by social-media visibility and word of mouth. Every UK site that's installed Cue Golf has either expanded or held strong; none have removed it.

Why Players Come Back

Built for Competitive Socialising — Not Just Played, Filmed.

Cue Golf reads like mini golf for ten seconds, then it doesn't. Players keep coming back because the format engineers the moments operators actually need: laughter, replays, queues, phones out.

01

Easy to learn, impossible to master.

First-time players sink a shot in under a minute. Repeat players spend hours chasing the perfect line. Low floor, high ceiling — the gameplay loop competitive socialising is built on.

02

Group play, by design.

Every hole rotates the spotlight. Whoever's up draws the table — friends, dates, colleagues, strangers in the queue. No-one's a spectator for long.

03

Filmable wins, every round.

Trick shots, near-misses, holes-in-one. Phones come out on their own — that's the social engine behind 100M+ organic views with zero ad spend.

04

Drink-compatible, all-ages.

Light enough to play with a pint in hand, sober enough that families and corporate groups all leave happy. The same nine tables serve every weekend slot a venue runs.

05

Competitive tension on every shot.

Hole-by-hole scoring keeps the game live until the last putt. The lead changes, the table reacts, the next group cues up before the current one has finished.

06

Replayable for years.

Players return for new holes, new groups, new scores. 150,000+ rounds at the flagship — and the curve still climbs year on year.

Inside the Flagship

Cue Golf Earns More Per Sq Metre Than Every Other Game in the Venue.

The Flower Bowl uses 80 sqm for its Cue Golf zone, sitting alongside 6 other leisure activities under one roof — same building, same footfall, same staff. Here's annual revenue per sq metre by activity (GBP, 2025).

CUE GOLF ★ £3,439 / sqm / yr Crazy Golf £1,208 Table Games £1,108 Golf Simulator £1,019 VR Ride £899 Bowling £830 Curling £216
Cue Golf delivers 2.85× the revenue per sq metre of the next-best activity at the flagship — and roughly 3.9× the average of every other game in the building. Same footfall, same demo, same staff. The product earns its space.

Cue Golf has been a revelation — taking an unproductive space and becoming our best activity in sales per square metre.

Why it works in your space

No New Hires. No Utility Bill.
No Maintenance Schedule.

Cue Golf was designed from day one to be the easiest leisure attraction to operate. That's not marketing — it's how we got it into mall, holiday park, entertainment centre and hospitality estates.

Zero Electricity

No hookup, no rewiring, no leasing-team approvals for electrical loads. It just sits in the space.

👤

Existing Staff Run It

Whoever runs your existing register can sell rounds. No dedicated staff, no new payroll, no scheduling headaches.

🔧

Near-Zero Maintenance

No screens, no motors, no software updates. A quick hoover over the felt morning and evening — that's the routine. Balls roll into a locked box under the table at the 9th hole; staff access it throughout the day.

📐

~80 Sqm Footprint

Compact 9-table set fits in roughly 12m × 7m. Drops into family entertainment centres, holiday parks, malls, leisure venues, hospitality spaces.

🎨
Want it custom-branded? Felt colours, logos on the playing surface, and the table leg style can all be customised. Full custom builds add to the lead time and cost — happy to walk through what you're after at the agreement stage.

Our Story

A Product Refined Through Real-World Operation.

Cue Golf didn't arrive fully-formed. It was built, broken, and rebuilt across five years of live trading — every hole tuned against real customer behaviour, every detail iterated against venue flow, queue patterns and throughput.

We started in 2018 designing an Adventure Golf course for the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre. That project taught us how people move, play, and gather inside a leisure space. In 2021, that learning became Cue Golf. In 2023, Studio 23 Design Ltd was officially founded to scale it.

What you see now is the product of tens of thousands of recorded games, six trading venues, and four full years of operator feedback. Built in Preston. Engineered for repeatability.

Come See It For Yourself.

The fastest way to understand Cue Golf is to pick up a cue and play it yourself. See it in person, give it a play, watch how a real queue forms around the tables. Numbers explain the business — a round on the floor explains why operators end up rolling it out.

A personal invitation
If you want to see it for yourself, we'd be more than happy to host you at the Flower Bowl for a visit and a discussion — coffee, a walk of the floor, and as much time at the tables as you want.
